4 Things You Need To Be A Full-Time Blogger

Blogging can be a full-time career if you want to be. If you’ve got a big enough following, and the money is coming in regularly, then why the heck not? It’s a fun option, and it means you don’t have to put up with an annoying boss anymore!

Having said that, if full-time blogging is something you’re keen to move towards, then there are some things you need to make it possible. Take a look at the short list below to figure out what you need to make this happen:

A Modern Computer

I highly recommend that you spend some of the money you’ve earned from blogging on a new computer. A modern device is so beneficial as it’s faster than an old one, which helps you remain productive. As well as this, consider the keyboard you use as well. There’s a nice list on www.techradar.com that shows the best computer keyboards around at the moment. Get one that feels comfortable to type on, which helps you get more work done, more comfortably.

Grammar Editing Apps

Most of you will have access to a word processing app of some sort. It could be Microsoft Office, Google Docs, or you may just use the built-in word processor on your blogging platform. However, you should also try and find grammar editing apps as well, to enhance your writing skills. Things like Hemingway and Grammarly are great at helping you write in certain ways, avoid repeating words and keep your sentences at readable lengths.

Fast & Stable Internet

A blogger with a bad internet connection is never a good combination. If you blog in your spare time, then you might get away with slow internet speeds and a connection that cuts out now and then. But, when it’s your full-time job, then you depend on the internet so much more. You can see on www.i3broadband.com/ that there are various internet packages available, with different max speeds attached. To make blogging your full-time job, you really need a connection that’s lightning fast, and very stable. This lets you remain productive, and prevents you from missing out on opportunities because of a bad internet connection.

A Media Kit

Some of you may know what this is, but for those that don’t, a media kit is basically a document/page on your site that gives brands and advertisers some information about your blog. It should include statistics, what you write about, your target audience, and so on. The aim is to help influence brands to contact you for sponsorships or advertising deals. It helps reel them in and notice that you make a good partner for them. If you want to blog full-time, you need to ensure you have as many brand deals and sponsorships as you can to keep the income flowing. A media kit is the best way to help you kick things off.

Aside from having a loyal audience that keeps on growing and growing, these are the four things you need to be a full-time blogger. Or, let me rephrase that, these are the four things you need to become a successful full-time blogger.
