“There are eight hundred happy texts…(a)nd do you know, my father said that if God took the trouble to tell us eight hundred times to be glad and rejoice, He must have wanted us to do it.” –Hayley Mills as “Pollyanna” (1960)
Positivity may not always change the outcome,
but it will change your outlook while you wait for its coming.
Negativity will always sell, but positivity is freely given.
Seek out the happy texts
of the Book of Awesome Hope and Wondrous Change,
the appeals to our innate goodness from Pastor Joel,
the kindnesses of kith and kin,
and pay it forward while paying it back,
keeping in mind from whence it all comes.
Release control to the God who looks upon you
as His masterpiece, crafted in the finest detail
from His masterful image that has no end.
Sometimes, whatever will be, will be,
and sometimes, the free will of others,
and even your own,
will tread on you,
but worry not,
for every day is a day that the Lord made,
with many more to come.
Know that you cannot always turn a negative
into a positive,
but that you can find something positive
that comes out of every negative,
or make something positive come from it;
that in so doing,
you will take the power away from the one
who tells you no good thing.
Be still, and know that He knows
everything that will happen and
everything that you will do—
that He will fulfill the number of your days,
and that all you have to do is live—
not for Him, but in Him.
Know that the only One who knows your thoughts
is the One with the mastery of the universe—
the One who cut the stars out of the sky,
who drew the shells from the seas to form the moon,
who sculpted fire on a rapidly spinning axis
into the golden globe that brightens
and sustains every living thing.
Choose to be the happy dwarf,
though you still may have grumpy moments.
Give no person permission to appraise you,
for God has already valued you at a worth
impossible to enumerate.
A good attitude will fortify fortitude.
Mountains will become molehills,
and yet your elevation will go all the way to the top.
At times, it may be the best of times,
at others, perhaps the worst,
but it is your time.
Live it by choice,
and not by default.
Live it seeing the tree
before the seed is planted.
“I’ve read the last page of the Bible. It’s all going to turn out all right.” –Billy Graham
